Mog, the Forgetful Cat, is the first novel in Mog the Cat series by Judith Kerr. The book introduces Mog who lives with the Thomas family, father, mother and two children, Debbie and Nicky. As a cat, she has her own entrance into the house, and around the house, a cat flap that leads her from the kitchen to the garden.   While Goodbye Mog is plainly a children's book, about the death of children's pets ("goodness, the funerals we've had of hamsters and cats, and it's always very sad," says Kerr), it was the human.

Later Meg flies on her broomstick to meet her friends at the annual Halloween spell party. Unfortunately Meg’s spell goes wrong and she turns her friends into mice! This is a picture book classic with two popular characters, Meg the witch and Mog her cat. The illustrations are very striking with bold use of colour, black and white. Meg and Mog is a classic series of children’s books featuring Meg, a witch, and Mog, her cat. The books are an excellent source of language for both first and second language acquisition. They can be enjoyed at any time of the year, not just Halloween!

At least the scatty witch Meg has her roots somewhere a little less run-of-the-mill. When I met the Polish-born Pieńkowski in , he told me about how.
